The Benchmark AHB2 is a high-resolution power amplifier that features a host of revolutionary advances in design and performance. It uses patented technology to eliminate most sources of distortion and increase dynamic range far beyond what was previously possible in high-end amplification systems. Designed for recording high-resolution audio and digital formats, the AHB2 delivers the detail, texture and dynamic range of the best high-resolution recordings.

With a dynamic range approaching 130 dB, the AHB2 is much quieter than audiophile power amplifiers and will deliver all the musical detail that 24-bit PCM and 1-bit DSD audio formats can deliver. The frequency response exceeds 200 kHz and helps deliver the ultrasonic detail and transitions that only high-resolution audio can provide, while the low-frequency response extends below 0.1 Hz, which, combined with the high damping factor, goes a long way in delivering tight, well-controlled bass.

Unlike Class AB amplifiers, which can cause crossover distortion, and Class A amplifiers, which provide poor attenuation and limited dynamic range, the Benchmark AHB utilizes THX-patented innovations that virtually eliminate all crossover distortion while improving efficiency, attenuation, and dynamic range. As a result, the AHB exhibits far superior efficiency to Class A amplifiers and significantly improved distortion performance than Class AB.

The Benchmark AHB2 is a radically different audio power amplifier. It delivers the lowest distortion and lowest noise floor of any commercially available power amplifier. THD+N and SNR specifications are 20 dB better than many high-end hi-fi power amplifiers. The unique high-efficiency design delivers hundreds of watts from a relatively small, passively cooled enclosure.

Strictly regulated power supplies ensure a constant voltage to the output stages under all load conditions. This ensures predictable peak power and voltage at the outputs.
Switching power supply that operates well above the audio band (above 500 kHz). High-frequency operation eliminates large line-frequency transformers that emit large magnetic fields. High-frequency design allows internal filtering that does not interfere with the audio band. Extremely low magnetic emissions allow for a compact package without compromising noise performance.
Advanced protection system with real-time monitoring of all system parameters, including output distortion. If the amplifier is overloaded, the protection system shuts off the output before damage occurs to the tweeter.
