ProAc Response DT8 (pair)

ProAc spends a lot of time researching diaphragm material choices for its power units. Some materials work great at certain frequencies and so it makes sense to use more than one type of drive unit material to cover all frequencies.

The ProAc Response DT8 incorporates these design parameters into a ProAc two-way design for the first time. Using 2 x 6.5-inch drivers, the cone-diaphragm unit delivers exceptional bass performance in a ported enclosure, and bass is loaded through side ports. The polypropylene unit provides smooth, detailed and uncolored midrange. Both speakers work in tandem, resulting in a well-extended low-frequency response and the ProAc's natural midrange sound with precise imaging.

These frequency ranges are then cleverly overlapped by a crossover designed by Stewart Tyler, which seamlessly integrates ProAc's proven 1-inch soft dome tweeter. The tweeter is positioned in an offset position between the two woofers. The Response DT8 takes its place in the ProAc range as our entry-level freestanding design. This innovative speaker creates interest in mixing and matching driver materials to effectively cover all types of music.
