ProAc Response DB1 Ribbon Cherry (pair)

The ProAc Response DB1 Ribbon Cherry (pair) achieves the sound typically associated with larger speakers, especially the bass response. The DB1 cabinet is constructed from high-density MDF in varying thicknesses and is further damped with bitumen to control cabinet resonance. The newly designed long-throw woofer is vented at the rear. The cone is made from pulp and mica, which is then elastically coated and fitted with a ProAc acrylic damping phase plug. The crossover is designed for a flatter response at high levels, and the tweeter is either a ProAc ribbon with rear chamber damping and an alnico magnet.

The DB1's mid and high frequencies are excellent, with low coloration and high detail. The subwoofer delivers a beautiful bass quality, punchy and extended, similar to that experienced in a larger cabinet. The resulting soundstage is also comparable to that of a larger speaker. Small speakers, like the DB1, have become very popular for those who want high-quality sound with minimal visual impact.
