The FiiO FT5 comes with a large 90mm planar magnetic driver unit that uses an ultra-thin 6um diaphragm, this pair produces extremely solid sound with low distortion and high clarity. FiiO has crafted the driver unit with a full square voice coil from micron-coated aluminum silver alloy. The headphones themselves have a lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy construction with a three-way swivel for the earphone. FiiO has developed the FT5 with a high-power Tesla magnetic flux with 20 strong neodymium magnets on each side. FIiO connects the FT5 headphones with a standard high-purity cable made of 392 cores of monocrystalline copper material. The cable has a system of interchangeable end plugs and includes 3.5mm and 4.4mm plugs in the package.
