The Elac DS123 is an active subwoofer Built with a custom 12″ woofer and a high-efficiency 200W Class D amplifier. The Elac DS123 active subwoofer delivers tight, distortion-free low frequencies that bring your favorite music and movies to life. The Elac S123 active subwoofer utilizes a sealed enclosure that ensures low distortion and fast transient response, delivering natural, articulate low frequencies that blend seamlessly with your main speakers. The cabinet is constructed from MDF (medium density fiberboard) with internal horizontal bracing to help reduce unwanted vibrations that can discolor music or movie content. The exterior walls of the MDF cabinet are covered in black wood-textured vinyl. A removable cloth grille covers the 12″ woofer and the front of the cabinet.

The Elac DS123 active subwoofer features rear-panel controls for seamlessly blending the bass with the rest of your speakers in your system. The ELAC S123 is equipped with a set of stereo RCA/LFE line input jacks for connecting the active subwoofer to your AV or stereo receiver/preamp. It also offers speaker-level inputs and outputs, if needed. Pre-installed rubber feet help isolate the subwoofer enclosure from the floor to prevent unwanted distortion caused by vibrations. These rubber feet can be removed if you plan to use more robust vibration isolation feet.

The Elac DS123 will detect when an audio signal is being sent to the amplifier and will turn itself on. Also, to save power, the subwoofer will turn itself off after 15 minutes of no audio signal and inactivity. You can also manually turn the subwoofer on/off using the power switch on the rear panel. There is an LED on the back of the subwoofer that will glow green to indicate that the subwoofer is on, and glow red when the subwoofer is off or in standby mode.
